Damaged and dry hair tips
Having dry hair is one thing a woman truly hates. Dry hair can be caused by things such as exposure to bad chemicals, using the wrong shampoo/conditioner, washing your hair too much, dying your hair, and using too much heating tools. You can prevent many of these things from happening. For example, listed below are a couple of tips on how to avoid having dry hair.
-When you’re going to a pool, wear a swimming cap, the Chlorine is a chemical that can dry out your hair.
-If you know you are going to be outside for a long time, make sure to wear a hat. (Wearing a hat prevents the sun from hitting your hair directly, which can help avoid your hair from drying. Always protect your hair.)
Many hair products that we use on a regular basis could cause our hair harm. Luckly, there are a few ways to keep it looking healthy, clean, and shiny! The number one thing when treating your hair is avoiding hair gel.
Gel dries out the hair and damages your ends, which is definately a bad look. Instead of using gel, you may substitute it with leave in conditioners. It will moisturize your hair, and keep it looking healthy and shiny!
How to select the right shampoo
When purchasing shampoo, never buy the ones in plain colors. These types of shampoos tend to not contain any moisture, so your hair will become dry. Pearlized shampoos are great for dry hair, so keep that in mind when purchasing your shampoo product. Also make sure the shampoo you select is for your specific type of hair. For example, if you have dry hair, buy shampoo that is specificly for dry hair. Stay away from shampoos that contain sodium lauryl sulfate, this will take out the natural oils you have on your hair.
When choosing a conditioner, the deep conditioners are the best. Try to always condition your hair weekly if possible. Use a cream based deep condition on your hair at least 2 times a week. Make sure when you apply the conditioner, your hair is damp and clean. When rinsing, make sure you use cool water, this will close your cuticles to prevent your hair from being damaged. After you are done, put a shower cap on, and blow dry air onto your hair. This will open up the cuticles and fully condition your hair.
Creating healthy and shiny hair
The healthier you eat, the healthier your hair is, weird I know, but it’s true. Eating Iron foods or Iron supplements as well as your vitamins and nutrients allows your hair to grow thicker, faster, healthier, and will add a natural glow to your hair.
To keep your hair looking healthy, use nourishing products and create homemade masks. However, remember, too much hair care products can also hurt your hair, you dont want to over-do it. To have nice silky hair, start by grooming it correctly and cutting it every 6- 8 weeks to remove damaged hair or split ends. The more you cut your ends, the faster it grows, and healthier it will be. Also apply masks on your hair weekly.
In addition, changing hair products is always best. Fixing dry hair does not happen overnight, it does take time. Washing your hair everyday is a common cause of dry hair because you’re washing the oils that you need for strong and healthy hair. Try to cut back on washing it every day, and wash it every other day or every three days instead. The best way you can prevent your hair from looking and feeling dry is by cutting down on using your heating tools. Just like the sun, it will destroy the oils your hair needs and cause breakage in the long run.
Treating damaged ends
Apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner or hair cream to just the ends of your damaged hair. This will help smooth out the frizzy areas.
